The purpose of the Community Assistance Grant is the distribution of monetary funds to not-for-profit agencies in Crosby, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, and Terry counties. In the fall of each year, a total of up to $5,000 may be awarded during each application cycle to not-for-profit agencies that have previously incurred expenses between March 2, 2023 and October 5, 2023. Monies awarded shall be determined by the Junior League of Lubbock's Community Impact Council and the Executive Board of Directors.

Applications for the fall cycle must be received by October 6, 2023. The fall Community Assistance Grant monies will be awarded in November.

Your application information will be collected online. Please be aware that you will be asked to upload certain documents before submitting your application. You will not have the opportunity to return to the application at a later time to upload the documents. It is important that you have everything before you begin completing the application.

You will upload only the following documents, but they must all be uploaded for the application to be submitted:

1. Statement of Purpose
2. List of your Board of Directors and its committees
3. Current and prior year's budget
4. Most recent year-end and most recent financial statement
5. Most recent IRS Form 990
6. A copy of your 501(c)(3) IRS Authorization Permit
7. Receipts of Expenses for which this Community Assistance Grant will reimburse

The Junior League of Lubbock, Inc. is  an organization of women whose mission is to advance women's leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration and training. 

1. The purpose of the Community Assistance Grant is the distribution of funds to not-for-profit agencies to address short term and/or emergency needs of tax-exempt agencies.
2. A written application must be submitted through this online form.
3. Proof of one of the following must be submitted:
   1. 501(c)(3) IRS status
   2. Application for 501(c)(3) status
   3. Umbrella 501(c)(3) status, or
   4. Governmental entity status.
4. There is no minimum or maximum request. However, the average amount awarded to an agency is approximately $1,500. Please note that the JLL has the discretion to award partial amounts requested.
5. No organization will be considered for funding if Community Assistance Grant funds have been received in the twelve months prior to the submission deadline.
6. Agencies must have a local community-based board.
7. The proposed request should not require direct participation from the JLL members.
8. Requests must be consistent with the purpose and community interests of the JLL.
9. Applicants shall sign a contract and adhere to the stipulations.
10. Applicants shall supply receipts of the expenses for which they are seeking reimbursement along with their application for the grant.
11. Appropriate requests for grant monies may be used for any one or more of the following:
    1. Programs to promote voluntarism
    2. Training or education with associated travel expenses
    3. Equipment
    4. Additional funding for a former JLL project
    5. Capital improvements
    6. Unforeseen budgetary expenses
12. Emergency needs shall receive priority attention.
13. Requests shall not be considered for the following:
    1. Fundraising drives
    2. Capital campaigns
    3. Political campaigns
    4. Religious projects
    5. Individuals
14. Receipts must be provided along with the application for the grant if requesting a reimbursement.
