Gather your friends together for a Sneak Peek at Holiday Happening 2008. The event begins at 5 p.m. with preferred shopping for Junior League Sustainers. This Sustainer Shopping Hour is our way of thanking the Sustainers for their ongoing, valuable contributions to the Junior League of Lubbock. At 6 p.m., the doors will open to welcome everyone with a cash bar, hors d'oeuvres presented by the South Plains Chapter of the Texas Chefs Association and United Supermarkets, a silent auction and great shopping until 9 p.m.

Two shopping areas will be available with more new merchants, including the J. Cruse Christmas Gallery. Jackie Cruse is creating an exclusive Winter Wishes-themed St. Nicholas to be auctioned off during the week.

Ladies Day 2008

Wishing for Glitz and Glitter

Ladies' Day will feature the return of the style show with a twist. Our Glitz style show sponsor, J. Hoffman’s/Brighton Collectibles, will be joined by Harold’s, Kristi’s of Plainview and Malouf’s to showcase the newest fashions and accessories in all styles of clothing.

A NEW ticket options for Ladies’ Day is a $25 ticket that will get you in for preferred shopping, continental breakfast provided by Starbucks, and the style show. The $40 ticket will include everything plus a fabulous lunch catered by Stella’s following the style show. There is limited seating for the lunch option, so get your tickets early.

Fire and Ice

Join Ray Bonner, the Outdoor Chef, who will be on hand to teach everyone the tricks of the trade for grilling. Ray and his wife, Sharon, have won several awards in barbecue competitions and love sharing methods and recipes. The Outdoor Chef is known for its line of salt- and sugar-based dry rubs, spices, marinades and sauces for grilling and cooking outdoors. “Fire and Ice” also will include a silent auction, benefit drawing, cash bar and dinner catered by Holiday Inn.

Benefit Drawing 2008

Fire and Ice Benefit Drawing 

The "Fire and Ice" benefit drawing will be the highlight of Friday's event. Rather than offer just one prize, this year, there will be multiple winners. Once the winners are selected, they will have a chance to choose their prizes "Deal or No Deal" - style. The prizes include a  14-karat white gold diamond solitaire pendant, with a 1.06 carat round, brilliant-cut diamond from Robert Lance Jewelers, valued at $4,600. A Weber S-470 Summit grill from the Outdoor Chef, valued at $2,100 and a ski trip for two with lodging and lift passes from Angel Fire Ski Area and Resort. Tickets are $25 and quantities are limited.

   

Children's Event 2008

Cookies and Cocoa with Santa
Saturday, November 22

It's time to welcome Santa back to Lubbock and spend time with Mrs. Claus for a special story and breakfast compliments of McDonald’s. Santa's elves will also be collecting Pop-tarts to benefit Food 2 Kids.

All children will receive a goodie bag containing a cookie decorated by Aunt Norie’s Confections, cocoa mix, and even a toothbrush from Double T Smiles. Don’t forget to stop downstairs for a picture with Santa.

Market Hall 2008

Multi-Day tickets will be available once again this year. Purchase a multi-day ticket and shop Holiday Happening every day for only $15.  

During all Holiday Happening events, including Market Hall general shopping hours, there will be several exciting opportunities you won’t want to miss out on:

Decorative wreaths and In Good Taste tables will be on display. Don’t miss out on the chance to place your bid to take home these fantastic wreaths and everything on these festive tables.

We will have a Winter Wishes-themed Santa Claus, created by Jackie Cruse, to be auctioned off during the week.

We also will have a beautiful furniture grouping, brought to you by Ashley Furniture, to be auctioned off during the week.

Bidding on all of these items will end Saturday at 3 p.m. The check out and pick up for these items will be Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
